We used to run 2 copies of joinFS on our server, a stable one and a dev one. These were running simultaneously but used different port numbers. So in my Bookmarks I had
Server (Test)
Server (Stable)
When I connect to Server (Stable) the Join field in the joinFS Home Window displayed Server (Test) even though I was connected to Server (Stable)
Bit confusing when you're having problems seeing other players as it's difficult so know which Bookmark you're really connected to.
Home window displaying wrong Bookmark (1.4.34)
Re: Home window displaying wrong Bookmark (1.4.34)
Guessing here, BUT!!!
They are both on the same computer.
Probably have the same IP.
Ergo, that ten digit number that replaces the IP for your security, is the same for both versions of JFS.
solutions??
Possibly, you are on the right track, but you would have to change the port number in JFS Settings each time you change from Stable to Test.
That MAY work.
Keep the jfs community informed as to progress, please.

Yes they are both the same computer so the difference is in the port number. Thus the port number needs to be significant in joinFS's bookmarks and is not, I guess.
