Elevation problem with JoinFS

Post by breenild »

Hey Peter,
In our community (Blackbox&co you know) we often do Groupflights.
And here I always see a problem on the approaching aircrafts.
They mostly have a wrong altitude, when I see them in my simulator.
Either they were way too high and very shortly before the runway they suddenly are descending like an elevator.

Or they are to low and then they descent into the runway and appearing later on.

It's there anything you can do with that?

Have you tried disabling the elevation correction in the JoinFS settings. See if that makes a difference, but also look out for problems where different people have different scenery. As you may see anomalies on the ground.

From various report I don't think the current elevation correction is working all that well. Will need to investigate.

Thank you for your answer Peter!
Our next Groupflight will be on Wednesday. Then I will try without elevation correcting and I will report this to you!

Hey Peter,
Sorry for my late answer.
We tried to deactivate the elevation correction in the last Groupflight.
Now it is a little bit better. The aircrafts now don't dive into the runway anymore, but now they are hovering some meters above the ground.
Even when all users are using the default scenery.

Are you sure everyone is on the same scenery? If there's no elevation correction then everyone should be at the same height. Are you using the same aircraft models as the others?

I'm pretty sure, everyone was using the default scenery. We approached the airport Buochs in Switzerland. I think there exists no scenery.
But it can be a fact, if anyone is using ORBX products. I have ORBX global, Europe and vector.

The aircrafts weren't all the same, that's right.

Could it be that the model matching caused you to have different models to the original owner, causing the wheels to be lifted off the ground?
