Model Matching Identification

Post by ivanr »

Hi,
Sorry if this has already been mentioned before.
Can you tell me what attributes JoinFS scans for in the aircraft.cfg file and in the order it scans.

This will helps when sharing textures with other on-line users.

Thanks
Ivan

JoinFS uses many parts of the aircraft.cfg but only for creating an internal JoinFS substitution list.. (sorry don't remember them)
But.. The primary entry for model matching is the title=<my aircraft title> line in the aircraft.cfg.
It is the only line that must be distinct for each and every aircraft / repaint in all the hangars (aircraft, helos, boats, animals etc..) within flight sim.

It reads the following:

title
ui_typerole
ui_manufacturer
ui_type
ui_variation
model
texture
smoke.*

It only uses model and texture as alternatives if there is no variation specified.

These files are no longer scanned with MSFS2020
