The Global Hub Network
Just an idea at the moment, to add a second higher-level network of hub nodes to the existing JoinFS network. These permanent server-based instances of JoinFS will connect to each other in the same way as the current JoinFS client. By joining your client to a hub node instead of another JoinFS clien...

Re: IPv6 results in crash
Hi Karl, thanks for providing the information. It's very useful in getting JoinFS as stable and usable as possible. It does try to check that incoming messages are always from other JoinFS nodes, but the unhandled exception means that there's a problem there if you get it when FSX multiplayer tries ...
Re: Bug List
Hi Jorge,
It's in the FIXED 1.0.0 TBA, which means that it's fixed in the upcoming version 1.0.0. Which will hopefully be available this morning as a test version.
Best regards,
Peter

Re: IPv6 results in crash
Hi, The text that appears in 'My IP' is just for your information. JoinFS doesn't actually use it. If you just click on create and if you already know your IPv4 address then let others in the group know the IPv4 address. When you click on the Join button, have you entered the IPv4 address of another...

Re: Helicopters
Wow that was fast, awesome work! We'll start testing JoinFS probably next week at my VA - I'll let you know how it goes and if we find any bugs etc. Some people reckoned that TacPack would not work with JoinFS because it relies on some back-end stuff in FSX Multiplayer so we'll check that out for y...

Re: Another port forwarding question
Peter working now, thanks. It appears that all pilots should port forward 6112. Once we did that no problem. One comment though it appears not to see helicopters. I am not complaining just wanted to point it out. You have a fantastic start here and I'll be contributing to your efforts in the only w...

Re: Helicopters
Hi Dean,
thanks for letting me know about this. I can indeed confirm that the FSX Bell does not work correctly. This is a high priority for the next version.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Security
Hi Dean, another great idea from you, along with the hub node idea on the other forum.
This will certainly be on the new feature list.
Many thanks,
Peter

Re: Question on Port Forwarding and IP-adresses
Hi Mikael,
Really glad to hear that it went smoothly.
Yes, I have also seen the twist at the top of the loop. Originally it was happening on every loop and I thought I had fixed it in 0.4.0, but it seems to still happen in certain situations. I shall look at it again.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Another port forwarding question
Hi Martin, You should be okay with port forwarding enabled. A couple of things to check: Is the Pilot count still on '1'. If it's on '1' then they definitely haven't connected. If it goes above 1, then someone has connected. From the View menu, you can also check the list of aircraft, network nodes ...

Re: New Feature List
Any thought about MacOS Support? I have a couple of pilots on my VA that use X-Plane on MacOS who would love to fly multiplayer. They'd most likely also be willing to act as Beta Testers. Hi Martin, that's an interesting question. I just had a very brief look online and there does appear to be a wa...

Re: Question on Port Forwarding and IP-adresses
Hi Mikael, JoinFS uses the same port as FSX, 6112. The reason I chose the same port was because existing players who have set up their router to port forward on that port will not need to change anything as it will already be configured, and will work in the same way. Similar rules apply to connecti...

Re: Enhancement request
Hi Ivan, I'm glad that you had a successful group flight with JoinFS. :) JoinFS already has support for model matching. All you need to do is scan FSX for models from the JoinFS menu, 'File|Scan For Models'. It will ask for the main FSX folder. You only need to do this scan whenever you install new ...
