Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds
They could have at least left the ability to achieve a direct connect via IP address. You can continue to do that. We at Ala 12 Virtual have never stopped using this function, also in FSX Steam Edition . Just, on Multiplayer screen, instead of selecting steam select the Local Network (The right but...

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC
Does that not require the person you are joining to have the appropriate port forwarded on their computer?ATC Roo wrote:The way I connect Grumpy, is to connect my JOINFS client to a user that is already connected to my hub.
If that helps.

Re: Shared cockpit procedure.
Peter: I suggest (unless there is some reason that this cannot be done - some issue with having two people in control of these functions) that you include flaps, spoilers and gear in the 'Other' category. Although it is rare for me to share an aircraft with anyone my observation has been that the PN...

Re: Chat function
I find that many people don't follow the forums and they are more of a "I'm here (on FSX) and I want to know what's going on" (without putting in a lot of effort). That's why I thought of a bulletin board-type medium. Personally I tend not to follow most forums closely enough to get an ann...

Re: Chat function
To be fair Peter I think you have listed more than I instantly thought of there. "Global message to everyone across all public hubs." Support for hyperlinks so ATC can broadcast they are active and include a ts3/discord/another VOIP system for a pilot to click and join. Agree - this could...

Re: Not on Hub List but Showing as Active in Bookmarks
Thanks for the observation Roo. I asked if the Hub mode was ticked in Settings and was told that it was as others reported that they could see the EPAV hub on the Hub list but I will double check.

Not on Hub List but Showing as Active in Bookmarks
This may be two separate issues / causes but since both can be seen with the same graphics I will cover both. First - Note on the Hub list that the EPAV Hub does not appear: http://i68.tinypic.com/2lvtp1.jpg However - if you look at the Bookmarks list (where I had some time ago bookmarked the EPAV I...

Re: Share Cockpit Functionality
Peter: I sent an e-mail a few days ago regarding the test version - not sure if you saw that or not. One of the things that happened was that when transferring controls (either way - handing them over or resuming control) the aircraft goes wildly out of control from which it is very hard if not impo...

Re: Minor issue with shared cockpit.
Thanks.
We have noted several issues but will hold pending updates. We'll try to get an organized approach to troubleshooting any issues so you can have a list of things that work or do not appear to work properly.

Re: Using JoinFS in an airshow
An alternative is this modified camera.cfg file - link below. This allows you to be outside of any aircraft, pivot around using hat switch or TrackIR or whatever you like for changing your view - you can also zoom in and out using the +/- keys. (The original version has a viewpoint from inside your ...

Re: Network latency issue 1.0.14
I will be trying to create a general manual for JoinFS for our members at MODsim soon but we're not really clear on which way is best to go about some things yet... I have not published anything beyond the user guide for the latest stable version 1.1.14 but I do have some things in draft for what a...

Re: Shared Cockpit
If you see the aircraft on the View | Aircraft list but do not see it physically in the session consider the possibility of one of these two things that might explain this: 1. The aircraft that you have substituted no longer exists in your sim (I have had this occur - if you use an aircraft for subs...

Re: Shared Cockpit
Same here.
Peter - sent you some info on what we found testing the shared cockpit by e-mail. Let me know if you did not get it - got some strange 'failure to deliver' when I tried to forward what I sent with clarification re: which version this was.

Re: No 'Leave' after you Join - and Whazzup
Thanks. Sorry I did not figure out the disconnect thing.
Will watch for Roo's post on Whazzup and see if I can also get this set up.
Please see my e-mail regarding our shared cockpit testing today.

No 'Leave' after you Join - and Whazzup
TEST v 1.1.8 Not sure if this is by design or not - but once you join a session there is no longer an option to 'Leave'. It does disconnect the session when you close JoinFS so you can then join a different session. I understand the principle of Whazzup regarding identifying who is in a particular s...

I followed this for a bit and thought it was resolved since I could see Atlantic Fleet VCW3 on the Hub list.
It is still there and on line.

Re: Removed Node Error
Thanks for confirming that the issue with a separate computer running the Hub goes away if I use the same computer to both fly on and run the session. Agree that there are pros and cons (or, maybe more accurately, risks and benefits) to linking all the hubs. Being able to see all the Hub sessions is...

Re: Removed Node Error
Thanks Peter I think that it will be fairly common for someone to run the session / Hub on a separate computer but within their own network including our group's Hub session. Since those running the session also use the connection to fly online they would not want to have only part of the traffic vi...

Re: Removed Node Error
So - is this a local problem related to my router?
If so, why am I able to see some aircraft but not others whose nodes are removed?
