Re: ARGGHHYH!!! You have killed me!!

No, Peter, on my CLIENT JFS, on the flight computer, it wont let me enter flybywires.hopto.org, it insists that I use a numerical format. I am using the hopto facility on the coffeecup I just log on via another members JFS One of my main gripes is with Telecom, I have an atrocious line, crackles and...

Re: ARGGHHYH!!! You have killed me!!

Yep, I join MY hub via Scott.

I cannot enter a text address in the IP field which I COULD with Ver 15.

Apart from that, I cannot see much change from 15.

'The REFRESH button is useful.

Re: JFS on a second PC Moved from QUERIES

Excellent, Bob, I love it when a plan comes together. That's an amazing system you have there, hope your fuse box is able to take it all. :) As much as I like the Raspberry Pi, that little PC board looks perfect for Windows 10 with JoinFS. Peter Peter, )and others) for your information. http://www....

JFS on a second PC Moved from QUERIES

Greetings all. An update on the "Coffeecup" I spent yet another Pension on my experiment. A nice 7.5 inch back-lit LCD screen and touchie feelie overlay. Very cheap too. Cobbled up a wooden frame for it and attached it to my bank of monitors. Found yet ANOTHER free monitor with a DVI input...

Peter
To make it "An hour or two earlier" would be to deny me either breakfast or sleep.
We wouldn't want that now, would we?

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC

It works!! It works!! Thanks to some valuable input from Dan "The MAN", the lattepanda, (Now known as Coffeecup) is working as a JFS server. Sooooo look for flybywires 15 on the hub list. the 15 denotes the stable version number, but YOU worked THAT out as soon as you saw it, didnt you? W...

Re: New Feature List

How about a tick box in the Hub settings? This would be activated by the individual Hub Owner, and could be selected after discussion with that groups members, or not. A "one world" scenario is also good, most groups use their own comms application, so that keeps that chatter separate. Its...

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC

The way I connect Grumpy, is to connect my JOINFS client to a user that is already connected to my hub. If that helps. Does that not require the person you are joining to have the appropriate port forwarded on their computer? Dan "Should" not, Dan, because its not actually a hub that you ...

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC

Bob, couldn't you use TeamViewer or similar over the network instead of using a physical monitor? Peter Yep, I tried that and its OK. now to set TeamV to autostart on the Panda as well as JFS. A bit of experimentation for I have never used TeamV on an unmanned computer. Anyway, so far, it is just a...

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC

Thanks, Roo, Not an Aussie, are you? As in Kanga.... I shall try that, I suppose that a hub is technically a client? The Panda is the Hub, my FSX Puter is a client. I have another problem, that more money will fix. I wanted to use a Samsung tv, model LA19R71B as the monitor. Nope, damn thing could c...

Re: Running JoinFS on a 2nd Networked PC

Hi Ted, yes, this is fine. All you need to do is find out the internal IP address of your machines. I usually use the command line tool 'ipconfig' to get it. It will likely be something similar to '192.168.0.3'. Then simply specify that in the JoinFS main window and it should connect ok. Peter I ha...

Re: Towerview consideration

A good idea, but aren't there any add-ons that already do this? Does the OrbX BOB not have autopan tracking? Peter Most assuredly, yes, Orbix has two towers, no, NOT twins. A tall one and oddly enough, a short one. Essentially, they are invisible aircraft, and you can slew them to where ever you li...

Refresh JFS

Silly idea number 456. How about A REFRESH BUTTON? It would be on the MAIN JFS window. under LEAVE and JOIN buttons Pressing REFRESH would read the current Hub address, leave the current hub, pause for one second and read the buffer, picking up the data from earlier, and then JOINS again. Why? we lo...

Re: Unhandled exception

Hi Grumpy, Interesting that I've not seen this before. Having done a bit of research on the error, it appears to be a temporary local problem related to your machine or possibly the network. Did you lose internet connectivity at the time? No, Peter, it occurs as soon as I invoke JFS. but it IS a ne...
