Markers in a recorded flight

Hi Peter It would be nice if you could consider a way to set markers in the recording of a flight made by the lead pilot which I will call the “phantom”. The markers would be set at strategic points to announce turns ascents, descents loops, smoke, and other maneuvers along the flight by inserting s...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

Can that be done in multiplayer? If it can then can it not be done in single player? We have been using FSRecorder. Any session that is recorded - multiplayer or free flight - can be viewed from the control tower with autopan. If it is a formation, during the playback serup, you can select any airc...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

I sure hope that Peter doesn't get the wrong impression from all this info exchange about connecting a steam session to a hosted FSX Boxed session, because it has absolutely nothing to do with JoinFS, and in no way is it a slam against JFS.... JoinFS manages inter-connectivity of the two sims quite ...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

We did it yesterday. Never had any problem. I see you have a active chat on the left side. Don't use the Steam tab. Use the one to the right. Be sure you have the necessary ports open (Use FSPortTest: http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=737.0) I can promise it is working. Tisor I...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

Once again Tisor - thanks for your reply. Can you tell me if it is necessary to have Acceleration installed? Dan's image in his reply looks like the FSX Boxed edition WITHOUT Acceleration installed. In FSX Boxed, when Acceleration IS installed, it shows as " Acceleration on all screens. Just th...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

Thanks, Dan - thats what I was afraid of, and also a very good way to "P" off all of the users of FSX who have been supporting it for many many years. This may even more incentive for Peter to have a look at the jitter problem. To me, it sounds like the famous SimConnect issue - a problem ...

Re: JoinFS - First Use report from the FSX Bluebirds

Since we began using JoinFS, there have been a number of software updates, each one improving and fixing various problems of the version before. However, the problem of aircraft in close proximity to one another (close being defined as a few meters) jumping forward and back seems to persist. This ma...

Ref wing low: turning off the ATC Mode did not fix the problem. Ref Jitter : All players have reset the FPS to 24FPS - seems to have rectified the jitter problem As requested, Attached is link to a recording in my DropBox to show the strange non-level wing issue. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhutsr93f...

Re: Low right or left wing

Thanks for the replies, and I am betting on the ATC setting. I Have been experimenting with the Ctrl Twr setup in preparation for giving some ATC Procedures training and IFR training. Will chk the ATC settings and report back. As far as the jitters are concerned, my two Wing pilots and Slot pilot se...

Low right or left wing

This is a rear view shot of my formation team in JoinFS For some reason, they appear to be flying with one wing low. sometimes the right wing and sometimes the left wing. The pilots insist they are flying wings level (as mine are in this image) and hope there is a way to correct this. They also repo...

Re: Towerview consideration

There are a number of ways you can do this: 1) Start a Multiplayer session as an ATC Controller, save the flight. Then you can access that saved flight in Free Flight for use with JoinFS and your radar of choice. 2) Download this tower, which can be moved about as per a normal aircraft using the sl...

Re: Towerview consideration

To my limited knowledge, ORBX BOB does not have autopan. If it does then I wish someone could tell me how its done. Panning seems to be via the hatswitch only and is quite difficult to track an airplane at 450kts during a high speed pass. Of course i will stand corrected. As far as the built-in CT t...

Towerview consideration

Hi Peter
Something you might want to explore sometime when you have time (as if that's about to happen) is incorporating a towerview with autopan feature. Even a customizable towerview where you could place a view of the flying aircraft virtually anywhere?
Doing so would be an ideal virtual camera.

Re: Using JoinFS in an airshow

Well, during last night's practice, I stepped away from my T-33 and took up 1st Person Bob as the "camera". I can now confirm that Bob works very well as a camera, but need to slow down and smoothe out the FSX panning from the hatswitch. The zoom works very nice and allows zooming in on a ...

Re: Using JoinFS in an airshow

There's only really way that you could do this "live"; 1) Have the cameraman as Bob and yourself as the pilot in the same JoinFS session, with the cameraman using FSX's AI view to maintain a track on your position in the sky while filming. He then broadcasts the footage live at the same t...

Thanks for the replies and this unfortunately confirms my suspicion that views such as spectator view and special tower views are not available?
