Re: Suggestion: Elevation Correction
Just a thought but most group flights us the same or similar planes, start at a specific airport, and all meet up before taking off. Maybe instead of having to have a table of elevations for all airports, you could just have a button or similar for each aircraft to say "set to my altitude"...

Can't see recorded aircraft when using ORBX BOB
Not sure exactly when this crept in since it used to work. When I play back a recording to grab a video, if I am in Orbx's BOB (free download), none of the other aircraft are visible and don't show up in the view aircraft dialog. As soon as I switch to something else, they appear. It used to be I co...

A Virtual Reality Formation Constellation Run into Duxford
I did a flight of four Connies in formation from Stanstead to Duxford. It's VR but if you don't have a phone viewer, you can maybe just concentrate on one half of the screen. It's not the ideal way to see this stuff with all the distortion on a regular screen, but hopefully it gives an idea of the e...

Re: Using the JoinFS overdub, replay, and join cockpit features...
Totally agree, Peter! I've been saving my better "rides" to put people in to let them see what VR flight is like. And with them just riding along, they don't need to know how to fly! Can put them in any plane I have and let them look around. Aerobatics to racing, to low and slow. The helic...

Using the JoinFS overdub, replay, and join cockpit features...
I had a lot of fun doing this! Those screams you hear are all AI from the crew and passengers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJopJm3qiyU The Join Cockpit feature is amazing and how you can go back and see everything from any airplane with all of the overdubbed planes present in the views...

Not seeing all planes network issue
I think we sorted at least one cause of this at a group fly yesterday. One of the participants was having difficulty seeing all the planes in the group. He'd see less than half and I believe he would even have planes occasionally come and go. Everyone else was seeing all the planes just fine so it w...

Re: Duplicates planes !!
Hey Peter, just my opinion, but I'd rather it be a manual "Bookmark current connection" kind of thing rather than automatic. We were trying connecting to others in the group fly just to test their port forwarding and such and that could clutter up a list if people end up connecting to extr...

Re: Duplicates planes !!
Hey Peter, we did a group flight yesterday and at least one of the guys was reporting multiple planes in his list as well. This was with 1.0.17 Test. I don't have any other information except my airplane list was fine. We did mention turning off AI traffic and such but I don't know that that helped....

Re: Recording formations with JoinFS
Could you guys record and post the .jfs file of the flight?
That way even if people can't join in to observe, they can always download the .jfs file and watch the replay.
I've been hoping aerobatics teams would start doing that anyway. Would be cool!...

Re: FS Join Bandwith Usage
Hey Peter, one request on reducing bandwidth - if there is any way it could reduce accuracy in multiplayer close formation multiplayer flying or recording, it would be really good to make that an option. And the TeamSpeak angle is a good one. When we did a big multiplayer flight a while back, there ...

Re: Upcoming Events
2100Z might be better for getting others on if they can make it. Tony is a great multiplayer pilot and said he was going to be on today. And I'd like to get Alan in there since he is FASA and knows all the courses and much more about racing.
Will get set up on both servers.

Re: Upcoming Events
Hey Peter, that would be great! Might be able to get Tony from the FlyInside BBS in too, maybe 8055, and more remote would be the other FASA guys though some interest does seem to maybe be building? We'll see. It's 5:00 PM GMT right now. How about 7:00 PM GMT? What is the US Central sever? Is that J...

Re: Wow! Just wow!
You are welcome but thank you for JoinFS! Between you and Dan, flight simulation has changed forever as well as the ability for people to experience things they never would be able to otherwise. I can't wait to see what comes next for VR and flight simulation! Here is the video link: https://www.you...

I recorded a start, taxi, takeoff, pace, loiter, and landing in the free MilViz Red Bull P-38. Just to see what all JoinFS was recording and how it was doing for this stuff I played it back with me joined to the playback P-38. I run in VR with the Vive for my flying so got out of the cockpit like I ...

Re: Racing at Reno in a FASA AT-6 in Virtual Reality with the HTC Vive
And 1.0.15 is out! So now if people download that .jfs file they can see a Reno T-6 race from a first person perspective and look around as they wish. Warts and all. . Cut pylons, near misses, bad lineup for the start, and still pretty cool.

If anyone wants the JoinFS file for the planes in that video, it's now up: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2-Kp ... UZVa2xmVHM
See the video description for where to get the Texans used in that race.

And JoinFS, of course!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOe5GvhvqsQ
The JoinFS file is 10 MB if anyone wants to host it. The planes are free at the FASA website but you need to get the scenery from Alan/8055 for now as last I heard he hadn't posted it for general download yet.

Re: Not really a bug? A2A Texan
Well, this is interesting! I just sent you an e-mail. Was flying with one of the FASA guys tonight and we had no vertical movements at all. It was beautiful and smooth as silk. It was the first time I had tried high banks and hard pulls with a human pilot and I went into it expecting to see them but...

Re: Upcoming Events
It's not an event per se, but trying to build up interest in air racing with JoinFS. There is a group that has been using boxed FSX but is testing JoinFS for air racing which lets FSX:SE and P3D users play too. There is a vertical motion issue in turns with JoinFS but Peter is on it. It still works ...

Re: Not really a bug? A2A Texan
I'm glad it helps, Peter! I was hoping it only was on recording playback but makes sense it would also manifest on multiplayer. Things seem fine when straight and level or at low bank which may be why it hasn't been noticed until now. The FASA guys are looking at JoinFS and this would definitely aff...
