Re: Disappearing aircraft

Yes, he will completely disappear. I need to disconnect from the server and reconnect in order to see him again. Scanning yesterday's logs, there appears to be a delay at times between the aircraft disappearing and it being logged that I didn't notice before. My apologies. So I actually _do_ get a l...

Disappearing aircraft

Hi there! I've reported before that I have an issue where one particular player regularly disappears from the session. For some reason, it is almost always the same person, and he reports that he has the same issue concerning me. I have been using the monitoring option to see what happens, but do no...

Version 3.1.3 weird effects in P3D v5

After updating to 3.1.3, in a mixed P3D and MSFS2020 group, I saw aircraft dancing against the breaks, drive/land with the tail in the ground, and on LittleNavMap everyone came in crabbing.

The server was running 3.1.2. Could that be an influence?

Re: Masquerading not working for test version 2.0.4

I am flying with the Carenado C90, and select it in the list. Then right-click, Substitute, and select default King Air 350. After OK it is still marked in the list (in the sub model column) as BE9L.

Masquerading not working for test version 2.0.4

Trying to use 2.0.4 to solve connection problems, we noticed the masquerading is not working. No matter how often an alternative is chosen, the real aircraft keeps being shown.

Re: Need help diagnosing "disappearing aircraft"

Ok, it is happening even with 1.5.12: 13-12-2020 19:46:41.946 - Listing aircraft 'KLM127' from '82.72.105.226' - Model 'PMDG DC-6B KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (PH-DFI | 1959)' 13-12-2020 19:46:42.023 - Injecting aircraft 'KLM127' - User '82.72.105.226' - Model 'PMDG DC-6B KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (PH-D...

Re: Request for alternative aircraft re-mapping strategy

Peter,
I did a small test with 1.5.9T and it works beautifully. Will use it for our session tonight and report.

Cheers,

Re: Need help diagnosing "disappearing aircraft"

@Peter: Up until 1.5.3, as of today flying with 1.5.4, and nobody has disappeared yet. (knock on wood)

@RotorRick: Yes, that is what we do, but the problem returns after a while.

Need help diagnosing "disappearing aircraft"

We fly a weekly session with our own server, and sometimes one or two people disappear from the session. Disconnect-connect and theyr'e back, but the same person then is likely to "drop off" again later. No idea what causes this. Everyone is using the same version of JoinFS, and this probl...

Request for alternative aircraft re-mapping strategy

I am looking for a solution to the infamous "Carenado problem", where some people are experiencing engine shutdowns when someone using a Carenado aircraft joins a session. I would like to propose an alternative to the mapping of unknown aircraft from others, allowing instead the "masq...

Re: Mixed X-Plane/Prepar3D sessio: Cannot see Prepar3D users on X-Plane side

Criley, thank you. This appeared to be the problem. I was looking at other reasons because of the yellow marking in the "Aircraft" window, thinking it might be a network issue. Any hints on the liveries? I cannot match FSX B58 with KLM flightschool livery with an equivalent version in X-Pl...

Mixed X-Plane/Prepar3D sessio: Cannot see Prepar3D users on X-Plane side

I have tested this several times, and it appears definitely related to running X-Plane locally. Start Prepar3D v4, open a flight, start JoinFS, click connect: works. I see the other flyers, they see me. Start X-Plane 11, open a flight, start JoinFS, click connect: The other flyers see me, I don't se...

Mixed X-Plane/Prepar3D session

Hi, today I tried, running X-Plane 11, to join a session with Prepar3D v4 users. Although the others all said they could see me, I could not see them. In the Aircraft view their planes were all marked in orange. What does that mean? Also, I found out you cannot override the tail number in X-Plane, b...

Re: Request for help with development

The REST API will allow the server to be hosted and accessed without too much trouble wrt firewalls etc. Because it is basically the HTTP protocol, clients cann access it without routers and such complaining. The server only needs an HTTPS (for security) port exposed. Peer-to-peer requires that you ...

Request for help with development

Hi, as a combination of a hobby project and gaining experience in modern server development, I started working on my own multiplayer project. This one does use a server, but based on modern technology, REST API's, caching databases, etc. The server side is not as much the part I have trouble with, a...
