Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

I tried changing my pilot ID and aircraft callsign, but still on the map 20 minutes after leaving. I'll try looking at the map code to see if I can figure it out (though I'm not very good at such things), or I might try FlightAirMap

Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

I can't see how any of this would affect it since both whazzup.txt and cache.xml show no pilots when no pilots are connected, but one remains on the map

Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

One final observation, it seems to be the same pilot left on the map whether they're the first or last to leave JoinFS

Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

Well this is weird!! I created a cache.xml file in the same folder as settings.php. It inherited security settings from the other files so no need to change settings for IIS to be able to read it. Here's the testing scenario - Pilot 1 joins JoinFS Pilot 1 shows in cache.xml Pilot 1 shows on map Pilo...

Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

I've looked at some of the code and if I've understood it correctly it needs a cache.xml file, which I can't find anywhere. I'll try creating it tomorrow and see what happens.

Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

I'll update a bit later, but pilots are removed from whazzup.txt almost immediately, still showing on map after about 10 minutes. I suspect if I refresh the map in my browser the pilot will disappear.

Web server is IIS8 if it makes any difference

Re: Whazzup and JoinFS Maps

I've got the map working fine on my webserver, and it seems to be reading my whazzup.txt file since details are shown on the map & sidebar. The problem is pilots aren't being removed from the map when they disconnect from JoinFS. I haven't created a status.txt file because I don't really underst...

Can't connect when not a hub

Hi all, I don't want my JoinFS server being listed on the hub page, so have disabled any hub options. I run JoinFS as a service (effectively command line), but can't connect when it's set up this way, only when it's set up as a hub. These are the command line options used (IP address removed)- C:\Pr...

Re: Whazzup file when running from command line

Ok, I think I've got around the problem, need to do more testing before I call it fixed.

I created a dedicated user to run the JoinFS service under, I'm now getting the whazzup.txt file in the Appdata section for that user

Whazzup file when running from command line

Hi all, I've set up JoinFS as a service on Windows Server 2012 so it can run unattended 24/7, so I'm effectively running it with command line options. I'd like to create a Whazzup file but there's no command line option to enable it. I did find that when JoinFS is set up as a service a new subset of...

Indeed it was (and I should have seen that myself!!)

Now I see both aircraft in XP11, though on FSX the XP11 plane is buried in the tarmac!!

A friend of mine is on the Alpha and we tested JoinFS witth me on FSX. The only problem we saw was that I could see his aircraft but he couldn't see mine

Edit: his sim is listed as KittyHawk on the Users page

Re: Should I be seeing aircraft?

Thanks for the reply, After posting I realised I could use a 4G connection through my phone to connect the laptop (XP11), but this wasn't very reliable. In JoinFS: Hubs a large number of hubs showed as orange (no text) in the Status column, and my own hub was listed three times, two with orange / no...

Should I be seeing aircraft?

I'm currently testing JoinFS and have it running on a remote server. My testing has involved using a local PC & laptop to connect to JoinFS, one was running FSX, the other XP11. I was hoping that by placing the aircraft in the same location I'd see both aircraft in both sims, this wasn't the cas...
