Re: X-Plane: Bogus model variations offered for C172

If it would be possible to automatically update the list of ICAO codes during model scanning IMO the best solution for these cases would be if JFS generated a fictonal "ICAO" based on the model's X-Plane UI name (e.g. "F-4 Phantom II" in the above case) or the aircraft's file/fol...

Re: Custom model matching config wiped after each update

So the explanation is one or more recent changes in the model scanning code of JFS producing different names for the generated CSL models then? I can say for sure that my X-Plane aircraft models and .acf's didn't change. FYI: I ran 2 installers for JoinFS-XPLANE in order to upgrade my existing insta...

Re: Custom model matching config wiped after each update

I guess I can answer my own question about the storage location: It's in file "%LOCALAPPDATA%\JoinFS-XPLANE\matching - X-Plane.txt"

So it looks like this is getting overwritten with each installation/update...

Custom model matching config wiped after each update

I had my rather extensive list of custom model substitutions wiped twice now after updating JFS via the downloaded installer...

Is this a known bug?

Also, where is this info stored so that I can make sure I can create a backup?

OS: Win10
Sim: X-Plane 11
Current JFS version: 3.2.8

X-Plane: Bogus model variations offered for C172

While trying to substitute the default singleprop model with something for ICAO code "C172" I noticed the field "Select a variation" is offering me a huge list of totally unrelated models to choose from: jfs_01.jpg jfs_02_2.jpg Among the models in the list are also Laminar's defa...

Re: Hawk T1 Not visible

For aircraft to appear in X-Plane they have to be AI-enabled - not all aircraft are.

This is done by opening the .acf in Planemaker and going to Standard -> Author and ticking the box for "Supports AI flight". Then re-save the .acf.

Re: Global Session

I think what's creating a lot of confusion for many new users (myself included) is that there are multiple hubs that are running the same "Global Session". Joining any of those hubs will get you into the same session (same users and aircraft). Hence, they can be regarded as different gatew...

Re: Broadcasting objects in X-Plane?

For example, I was thinking about broadcasting custom objects that can be airlifted using helos... I thought it would be fun to teamwork on slingload missions, although AFAIK there is no built-in support for visualizing slung loads incl. proper physics on other aircraft than your own - not 100% sure...

Re: The JoinFS Map

I'm using X-Plane and my aircraft type is never recognized ("NA") on the map even though the aircraft model (.acf) uses the correct ICAO code (G2CA). Isn't the ICAO determined by the plugin based on what is specified in the current .acf?

Broadcasting objects in X-Plane?

As per the title - is this supported in X-Plane at all? If so, how exactly?

Re: Elevation Correction with x-plane?

It seems difficult to get the ground elevation beneath the other aircraft. Without that information it's not possible to correct for it. Prepar3D/FSX provides this information for all objects. You can probe the terrain using the SDK: https://developer.x-plane.com/sdk/XPLMProbeTerrainXYZ/ For exampl...
