Invisible plane

Post by vedum »

Hi Peter,

On a recent flight I've done with my team, I noticed a plane had a line in the distance column.
Also I did not see this aircraft in my simulator.
I changed his aircraft by another of my library and the line disappeared. I also saw the aircraft properly.

Why some aircraft appear like that?

Best regards,
stéphane

Hi Stéphane,

It currently shows a "-" if it doesn't have the position information from the simulator. It sounds as though because you hadn't selected a valid model at that point, the aircraft was not in the simulator, so it showed a "-".

The good thing is that I was changing the way this worked yesterday, so that it uses the reported network position instead. So this means that in your case it would have shown the actual distance correctly. Additionally, this also means that aircraft show up in the list sooner, and even if you are not connected to your simulator, you can see all the aircraft and who is in the session. And before you even start the simulator, you can quickly run JoinFS and see who is around. This will be in 1.0.12.

Best regards,
Peter
