A problem with installer

Post by edakridge »

Peter, one of our guys is having a problem with the installer. When He runs it it says that there is already an installer running. It does the same thing if you try to uninstall JoinFS. This is probably not your problem as he is running windows 10! I went in in Teamviewer and verified what is going on and it is weird! I know that no other installers are running because I checked in Task Manager. I was able to do a manual install of 1.1.6 from my computer and it is working, but this kind of thing drives me nuts until either I figure it out or someone explains it to me.

Yes, that is strange. I might be asking the obvious here, but did he try a reboot? It sounds like there is a background process running.

I just did google "msi install already running" and it came up with this:

Sounds like a similar problem.

Running corrupted msi installer OR msi moved to another folder is the issue.
Download 1.1.6 in the default w10 download location c:\users\yourname\downloads\
do not move the file !!
check the md5 checksum: 5EE11C6EC371129C6A59820EE57A5DAB *JoinFS-TEST-116.msi
then: install as administrator from this download folder
the firewall popup shpould appear!
This should solve your problem
