JoinFS download

Post by Juergen2 »

Hi,
I am trying to download JoinFS. When I open the download progress window, it shows: "unknown time remaining and 0 bytes. The progress bar is fully green; btw it's Windows 10.
Anything I am doing wrong?
Thanks for help

Hi Juergen,

Are you downloading it from here, http://pmem.uk/joinfs/install.html

Here is a direct link

http://pmem.uk/joinfs/JoinFS.msi

What browser are you using to download it?

Could it be your anti-virus software blocking it?

Hallo Peter,
I am using Firefox and NORTON (it's disabled for the download time).
Thanks

So what happens when you right-click on the direct link above and select "Save Link As..." ?

That should work. Have you ever had problems downloading msi files before?

Peter,
I used your download link and it worked fine.
I get this window (screenshot) if I click on the webpage download link. I don't think I ever had problems downloading .msi files, but can't say for sure.

From that screen shot it looks as though you did right-click on the "here" text. What happens if you use the other mouse button?

You can still use "Save Link As..." from that menu that came up.

Peter,
I tried the download from the web page on my other PC and it worked just fine. The file immediately downloaded. I don't know why first PC (FSX machine) is behaving like that (a gremlin???).
However, the simworld is good again.
Thanks

Peter,
I tried the download from the web page again on the first PC (FSX machine), but left Norton virus protection ON. The file downloaded immediatly and was reported from Norton as safe. So, I am not sure what happened the first time I tried and it would not download. Only difference is that Norton was originally OFF and now it was ON????????????
Again, thanks for help

Peter,
I now got stuck in the model matching scenario. I was trying to substitute the default C172 with another aircraft for model matching and received these notices (screenshot). However, I can not edit or add anything in the view - aircraft window other than "Follow" and "Enter Cockpit". So, I don't know how to get to the "Edit Model Matching" window, since the list is empty.

Peter,
My last reply was premature. I closed the program and was able to select a default model match. I guess the window "the list is empty, press the edit....in view/aircraft is a little misleading
Thanks

Ah, yes, that message is out of date now. I'll fix that.

Thanks for letting me know.
