Prepar3d V4 compatibility

Post by mutley »

Hi Peter,

I have seen an unsubstantiated report that JoinFS is already compatible with P3Dv4, can you confirm this?

Cheers.

Hi Joe,

I've made no attempt to check on its compatibility. However, if the developers are providing SimConnect backward compatibility themselves then there is not reason why it shouldn't work. It's just a case of try it and see. I would be surprised if there are any major issues but you never know.

Perhaps later this year. I have X-Plane 10 now so at least I have something to work with, or at least see if it will be possible.

But we did some flying with 3 x FSX, 2 x P3Dv3 and 1 P3Dv4 pilot in one session and the FSX and P3Dv3 pilots saw everyone including the P3Dv4 pilot, but the P3Dv4 pilot saw that he was connected ( all green) but didn't saw the other planes on the airport.

Could be scenery differences. Did they see them once everyone was in the air?

Peter, in another thread I mentioned the same thing; not being able to see the FSX pilot in P3D V4 with JoinFS.
We were both using the same add ons, essentially. That would be:

Me:
P3D V4
Flysimware MU2
Orbx Global/Vector/PILOTS! 2010 Mesh
Active Sky 2016

Him:
FSX-SE
Flysimware MU2
Orbx Global/Vector/PILOTS! 2010 Mesh
Active Sky 2016

Hi Bruce,

Did you see him in the user list and/or the aircraft list?
Any unusual messages in the monitor view?
Did you try checking when you were both near each other in the air?
