Scanning Moodels in P3D v4 Add-On Folder

Lockheed Martin have suggested that add-on aircraft are not now added to the sim's Airplanes folder, but instead put in C:\users\[username]/Documents/Prepar3D v4 Add-ons/Add-On Airplanes and C:\[as before]/Add-on Rotorcraft. Rather than having to enter all this text into the Additional Folders box, ...

Re: Alternative Port Numbers

Hi Peter,

Thanks for that, I suspect that I must have been impatient and run a second JoinFS session while the first was yet to appear, hence the error message. I will stick to using 6112, it seems the best option.

Alternative Port Numbers

When I first tried JoinFS I got the message "Only one use of each socket address(protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted". I assumed at the time that port 6112 was being used by something else, so I changed my port to 6113, and the error message went away. I have since been do...

Re: Missing my IP / Error message

Ignore that last message, it gets the local address, not the external one.

Re: Missing my IP / Error message

Hi Peter, I don't know why you are using a web site to get the IP, you can do it in code. I don't know what language you are using, but I did it in visual basic using code I cribbed from the internet. It uses the System.Net functions, first to get the host computer name, and then loop through that P...

Re: Missing my IP / Error message

Thanks Peter.

Just tried again, and all is well.

If this occurs again, do I just enter the IP?

Re: Missing my IP / Error message

Tried again, another error message, maybe more relevant to missing IP - System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: text at System.Windows.Forms.Clipboard.SetText(Stringtext, TextDataFormat format) at System.Windows.Forms.Clipboard.SetText(Stringtext) at JoinFS.MainForm.Text_...

Missing my IP / Error message

I seem to recall that when I started JoinFS it displayed my IP. Now it doesn't, but I am getting error messages. these are - 1 - "Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted." 2 - if I continue to run I get another message, the details of whi...

Re: Substitute Aircraft - Additional Folders

Thanks Peter, that makes sense. Normally our group fly in a single aircraft type, so it shouldn't be a problem for us, we were just experimenting with different types to test what we could do with JoinFS.

Substitute Aircraft - Additional Folders

Last night my friend and I ran a session with P3D and FSX, and using default aircraft we could see each other perfectly, but when we used substitutes, we went "invisible". The problem was resolved when we confined the substitute list to the currently available aircraft in the simulators. I...

Password

I have just installed JoinFS, and I have called up the Settings menu. I see there is a password for ATC mode, but I couldn't find any other mention of password in the manual. I currently fly in FSX multiplayer mode with a group of friends, and we protect each session with a password. Is there a simi...
