Thanks Cessna,
It's built on 4.5 so 4.7 is good.

I'll have a look later today, I hope.
If I can't replicate it I'll release a version with some kind of log.

Edit...
Was there any more information in the error window?
And another thing to check is that Euroscopes own proxy server isn't running.

I've had a little play this evening in the hope to sort the issue you had.

If you do manage to get the UI open there is now a Debug button to show what is happening in the background.
Although I haven't added an option to write this as a log file... yet.

I've gone over the code and made the odd little change here and there.

Let me know if that changes anything.

This is version 1.4.0.0 and the download link is the same as on the first page or a couple of posts back.

Thanks again for your help, but unfortunately I got the same result. Here is a error window I got on my Sim PC
Error Window
Error Window
Screenshot 2018-04-25 20.59.55.png (13.86 KiB) Viewed 15045 times
Again, no UI showed on either computer

BTW, Love the new icon for the app :) - so I have to assume I used the latest version as the icon is new.

yup looks good that you have the latest.

Although I've just literally uploaded a new one with that icon too.

Are you running anything else when trying to start the app?

Vpilot?

Is there anything in Event Viewer => Windows Logs => Application

I think I know what might have been causing your issue.

I've added a check, which should still let the form load and display a message.

Version 1.5.0.0
Download link is the same as normal.

Let me know.

Still failing, here are the event viewer log entries. I checked for Ver 1.4 and also found the same set of error messages

Aha a file not found exception.
Great, thanks Cessna.

Now to figure out what file you've not got and to include it.

What SIM do you use?
Xplane?
None installed?

I'm wondering if now I've added the FSX/P3D option, you'll need Simconnect installed on the system to use the tool.

I'll have a look to see if I can work out which file is missing, or if it is Simconnect I'll try and check and ignore in the app.

I've built a special Beta version to try and find the culprit for this issue.

See what this one does Cessna.

I forgot to advise that I'm attempting to run ESJOINFS without P3D or ES running (I get the same result if I launch ESJOINFS when P3Dv3 is running). The PC has both P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 installed and also has the FSX simconnect runtime lib installed as well. I use this PC to develop Simconnect apps for FSX/P3Dv3 and P3Dv4

Unfortunately, I get the same error when I run the beta version on both my PCs

I like to get things working for everybody if I can, so it's no issue.

With the Beta version I sent you I stripped out everything on Form load and placed them on to a start button.
So the form should have loaded and any problems that occurred would have been when you pressed the start button.

As it still failed to load the form that only left the form itself causing the issue, in particular the Main() which tells the form to load (the logs you sent also mention that).

Besides Form load in Main I added a Mutex check to check if the app was already running on form load.

As that is the only thing left, the Mutex check has to be the issue.

I've removed this check if you download the Beta version again from the same link 2 posts back.

The form should load.
Once it does click Debug which will open a console window and show you any errors when the program is running.
Click start to start running all the gubbings that make the program work.
Make sure the Euroscope Proxy is not running and Click connect to localhost in Euroscope.

Let me know.

Well I was totally convinced the last fix was it.

The problem I'm having is it works great for me, but its obviously no good sharing it with others if it doesn't work for them.

My latest attempt to allow others to use it is below.

I've changed the code a lot and now it needs a small config file to run in the same folder as the program.

I've packaged them both up in a zip file.

1. Unzip the folder ESJFS to desktop.
2. Open the folder.
3. Click on the ESJFS.exe

You should get similar to the image below, with the windows defender pop up on first run.

Image

If you want to see what is going on in the Background click the Debug button and then connect Euroscope to localhost.
You will be unable to click the debug button once Euroscope is Connected.
If you close the debug window the program will close.

Let me know.

If this doesn't work I'll have to rewrite what I'm doing to not use threading.

Great work, now loads OK. I did a quick test with P3Dv4.2 and ES and my user aircraft displayed correctly in ES.

Ah Thank...

I mean....

That's great :D

I noticed a few things last night that I wasnt happy with, so there will be an update when I get time to add the extra info.

I won't be changing the main structure of the program though so don't worry. :)

Maybe a stupid question, but is ESJFS2018 a replacement for JFSD.exe?

is a manual of discription available?

Need the user only "whazzup.txt to be selected or also

Activate ATC modus and Euroscope?

The same for the ATC'er?

I suppose it is, yes.

I left JFSD available in case that worked better for some people.

Although ESJFS2018 does have more features than JFSD.

I'll update the first post at some point with more detailed instructions, but you connect to JFSD or ESJFS2018 the same way.

If you are using ESJFS2018 and have the FSX/P3D option ticked, you will gain more info if you ask your pilots to file a flight plan using the FSX/P3D flight planner feature.

ESJFS2018 Version 1.7.0.0 now available with a few fixs to things I noticed over the weekend.

I have attached a picture below with my connection settings, as well as a picture of what information I see.

Image

Image

I've set up EuroScope to show my arrivals and Depatures.
The Callsign is Blue as it's a departure from Me (EGCC), EGCC arrivals would show as Orange, with aircraft not arriving or departing but under my control showing as White and not under my control as grey.

BAW123 has filed a flight plan using the FSX Flight Planner feature.
As you can see BAW123 (Speedbird 123) has set an AIRLINE CALLSIGN (BAW) and FLIGHT NUMBER (123) with the TAIL NUMBER (Registration) shown in the Remarks box.
As a real Trigraph(BAW) is used EuroScope knows the RT callsign (Speedbird) and displays it at the bottom of the scope.

I have a list that has 99.9% of real world Airline trigraphs/Callsigns if anybody would like it, just drag and drop into FSX/P3D and they can be selected when choosing an aircraft.

I hope the tool encourages some ATC about the place.

Let me know if you use it.

And here it is.
The final version!
Version 2.0.0.0
Download

Now added FSUIPC support for those not using FSX/P3D, which was the last thing on the todo list.

The tool displays as much data as I could find (in all 3 sources) in order to fill in a flight plan as much as possible.
Although the important thing is that it updates smoothly so aircraft can be vectored.

Sources...
JoinFS = the JoinFS whazzup file output by your JoinFS client.
Choosing not to enable Global users works best.

FSX/P3D = uses Simconnect to gain the data from AI traffic in your Sim.

FSUIPC = A little bit self explanitory but.. uses FSUIPC/XUIPC to gain the data from AI traffic in your Sim.
XUIPC untested as I don't have Xplane, so if somebody with Xplane could test and let me know that would be great.

The app is built on .net 4.5 if anybody wanted to test it on another OS like Linux under wine.

Supports both EuroScope and VRC (For VRC you'll need to add a .txt file call myservers.txt containing the line localhost ESJFS2018 in the VRC MyDocuments folder, see the server.text file).
Only one ATC client can connect each time.

The app should be able to be used over a network if port 6809 is forwarded correctly (ie this tool running on one PC with the atc client running on another).

Please let me know if you use it, Good or Bad.

Hello "Roo",

It seems that everything works correctly.

I see in the debugger all information except from my own plane.
I've tested with H Horenberg.

Probaly is my version of Euroscope not the wright one, cause I don't see any traffic.

Tomorrow of Friday w'll further testing with the version that used bij DutchFlightSimulator

With regards
