I've had a quick look and all seems in order.

I've not heard of this problem before and have tried your whazzup file with a few different maps I have installed.

All worked although admitidly there were only 4 users on your server (3 aircraft and 1 atc, confirmed by your whazzup and mine when connected to your hub) at the time.
So I was unable to check the error of not seeing more than 4 aircraft.

What you could try is replacing your whazzup address with the address that is in your settings.bak file and see if you see more than 4 users on your map by using a different whazzup file.

That would then eliminate your webserver and map.

Thanks for checking,

I was on the system when you were testing.
I shall try using a different whazzup address to see if that makes any difference.

Hello again,

I did change the address of the whazzup file location and there were many more aircraft showing.

I looked at each one in the whazzup file and each one seemed to have a unique callsign.

Today I change my static whazzup file from a flight last Sunday where only four aircraft showed but there were at least 7 flying.

Upon starting the webserver and checking the results I saw this which seems to confirm my suspicion regarding the map and duplicate callsigns:
joinfs-2017-11-15-static-sgf.jpg
joinfs-2017-11-15-static-sgf.jpg (144 KiB) Viewed 23235 times

I have asked my group to assign unique callsigns to aircraft used when we fly together on JoinFS.

Perhaps my finding might be shared with Peter or the map developer to consider what might be a best solution.

Best Regards,

That's great Darryl.

You now know that your map is working correctly.

A user should set their Aircraft Registration in the SIM as JoinFS reads the Registration/tail number and not the airline callsign or Flight number.

You can set a callsign in the Tailhumber box such as DV001 if that's what you would like the callsign on the Map to be.

N71FS is a default FSX tail number which is why a few users showed as that.

There should be no spaces in either the sim tail number or the JoinFS nickname box, as this can causes the different maps not to show a user.

All real world callsign have a trigraph followed by numbers and sometimes a letter.

Example: BAW123 or BAW123P where P may indicate it's a positioning flight.

The main map will display the real world Callsign if a real world trigraph is used.
The example above world display SPEEDBIRD under the callsign as BAW is the trigraph and SPEEDBIRD is the callsign for British Airways.

Regarding duplicate tail numbers only showing one aircraft on the Map you are using...
That might be the case although I would have thought it would show all the aircraft as the pilot ID is different for each?

It's something I've not seen before but like you've said the work around would be to not use a tail number that somebody else is using.

Hi Roo.

How would I go about getting custom aircraft icons for my map?

Thanks Roo!

Hi Kenny,

The easiest way I would say is to replace the .SVG icon in the map/Content/Icons folder.

There are online tools to convert png to svg files if that helps.

Hello Roo and thank you for the reply.

OK, there are four SVG icon files named planeD, planeH, planeL and planeM. Which one of these should I replace or do I need to replace all four?

Good question.
I'm having a few technical issues my end at the moment so Im unable to look for you.

So the short answer is I dont know.

The longer answer and the first thing I would do is to copy all the icons to somewhere else.
That way if you make a cock up, you can drag and drop them back.

I would Imagine (just a guess) that the letters after plane stand for Heavy, Medium and Light for the aircraft size.
D = Dont know. ;)

Although off the top of my head I think the icons change colour on the map when their selected or the map changes its background?
So chances are if the aircraft is selected it would display icon planeD with unselected aircraft showing as icon planeH for example.

The easiest thing to do would be to open the icon and see which one looks like the one you want to change.

After you've copied the originals replace one and see what happens.
You've backed up so you can always copy the icon back.

First thing to try would be to change the whazzup address
http://XX.XXX.XXX.XX:6112/whazzup.txt
TO
https://roo.servebeer.com/jfs/whazzup.txt

Do you see any Aircraft on the map?

I got the map working, whazzup file was showing , instead of .

Next problem is the callsign, my friend and i are flyin zibo and we got same callsign, map will only show one of us, is there possible to change callsign_ we are playing on X-plane.. can the map shown custom callsign instead of the ZB738 that all got when flyin zibo 738 etc..

I don't own Xplane, but surely the callsign can be set in Xplane?

The map will only show one aircraft for each callsign.

Its litle bit awork to do it in x-plane, need to edit the .acf file, should be an option in JoinFS to change callsign just as nickname?
