Call signs only

Post by Harvey »

Can anyone tell me why I can only see the call signs of my friends on line. I'm using XP11.55 and he is MS2020.
We have tried various ways of signing in budt always with the same results.
( We are both new to JoinFS)
Thanks

Hi, are you referring to the labels in X-Plane or the nicknames in the JoinFS window?

You can select and modify the X-Plane label information in the JoinFS settings.

If you set a nickname in the JoinFS settings then that should show up in everyone's session and aircraft window.

Are you using the latest JoinFS 3.1.5?
Did you reinstall the plugin from the JoinFS settings?
Have you done a Scan For Models from the JoinFS menu?
Have you added several AI aircraft in X-Plane Flight Configuration options?

Hi, I am using the latest JoinFS 3.1.6
Have installed the plug-in and confirmed it is in the plug-in folder.
However, no matter what I do I can't get it to Scan for models. It keeps saying that I must have the simulator running before scanning. I have tried starting XP first then trying to scan and starting JFS first but always get the same message.
Have you any ideas what I'm not doing.

Is the simulator button on the main JoinFS window green? If not then it is failing to connect to the plugin.

Also don't forget you need to load into a flight in X-Plane before JoinFS will connect to it.

Hi Peter,
Using your latest version 3.2.4 with latest version of x-plane 11 (11.55+) and we've the same problem as mentionned above. I can only seen the call-sign of my friends using the same version of x-plane. Simulator and network buttons are green and the plugin x-plane is correctly installed.
If you've an idea what's happening it'll help us really.
Many thanks in advance for your advice and Best Regards

Hi Marc,

Are you saying that you can see aircraft from other people using FS2020 but not their labels?

Have you ticked some of the label options in the JoinFS settings?

Hi Peter,

Sorry : I clarify my latest post.
My friends and me are on X-Plane 11 not FS2020.
We can't see the aircrafts ... only the call-sign is seeing.

Hope this help

Ah, I see. Which models are you trying to use? You may need to substitute them for something else. Have you generated CSL objects using the new scan window in JoinFS?

Hi Peter,
Thx for your following :-)
We've tried different models (ZIBO B738, Q4XP, ToLiSS A319 and A321, ;;;) and yes, we've used the new scan windows for our CSL files. THe way of my CSL folder is : D:\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins\JoinFS\Resources\CSL

In a text editor could you open Cessna_172SP\default\fuselage.obj and cut/paste the first two dozen lines into a post here. Thanks.

Good, well that explains it. Those should not be zeros, but the question is why. Need to take another look at the code...

Which language is your version of Windows?

Ah, it was due to the language formats. Should be fixed in v3.2.5.

Hello Peter,
First of all thanks for the new beta version 3.2.6.
So yesterday evening we've tested this version inside X-Plane 11 with the a/c FlyJSim Q4XP.
Find in attach what we see with this version.
JoinFs Q4XP.PNG
JoinFs Q4XP.PNG (247.4 KiB) Viewed 13056 times
There's quite some problem to see correctly the other a/c (we're all together with the same a/c). We've also tested other a/c like the B738 ZIBO with better view of the aircraft but not completely correct.
We can do more test with your further advice.
In any case thanks for your support.
Best Regards

Hi Marc,

It's quite difficult to convert these model with complete accuracy. I would suggest for now finding some CSL objects that are suitable to substitute with. You should be able to find some CSL that is close to the model you are after.
