Mixed X-Plane/Prepar3D session

Hi,
today I tried, running X-Plane 11, to join a session with Prepar3D v4 users. Although the others all said they could see me, I could not see them. In the Aircraft view their planes were all marked in orange. What does that mean? Also, I found out you cannot override the tail number in X-Plane, but that was "fixed" by using the nickname setting I guess.
