Problems with Lan setup

Hi,

Apologies if already covered, but I couldent quite find the solution:

We have two Sims , pc's running fsx, connected via Lan.
We dont have internet out in the hanger.
Joinfs is showing red on the network box and doesn't connect.

If I take one of the pc's through to the office and connect to the internet then the network box goes green straight away for connecting that way.

Any ideas what might be the problem?
Or a procedure for Lan connection?
I have done a ping to each machine and returns ok...

Cheers
Les

On the LAN you are best off just connecting using the local IP address. Create a session on one of them and join the local IP address on the other, for example 192.168.0.10 or whatever it is. If you need to find the local IP address just type 'ipconfig' in the Windows command prompt.

Apologies for being slow!

I have a good Lan connection- normal fsx multiplayer is working fine on the two Sims and a third atc station-..
But no joy getting joinfs to connect.

Could you give me a quick step by step guide to how to connect joinfs via Lan?
I have entered one ip4 address into the join address box but no luck whichever way i try it!
I think it could be a windows network problem as the network box will not turn green...?

Make sure that when Windows shows the message asking to allow JoinFS through the firewall you choose the allow option.

On machine A click the Create button and the network button should go green.

On machine A run ipconfig on the command line and find out the local IP address of that machine. If you are using DHCP then this address is likely to change when you reboot, so you may need to set a static IP address in the Windows option.

On machine B enter the local IP address of machine A and click Join. The network button should turn green.
