2nd PC Connection - Firewall Rules Protocols

Hi Peter,

Just for a bit more information; even if I have no flight simulator running JoinFS continuously try's to connect to a flight simulator. Would JoinFS just not time out if it could not find one running?

Indeed. Until version 1.7.0, JoinFS did timeout after three attempts. However when I was fixing the X-Plane connection issues I changed this to a continual connection attempt. In hindsight this was a bad idea, so I've changed it back to six attempts in version 1.7.5. In fact, in the early days of JoinFS I'm sure that there was some sort of network resource issue when the SimConnect startup code was called continually, which is why it was originally reduced to just a few attempts.

Hi Peter,

Just as an update, I installed JoinFS on another PC and it worked. Therefore I can only concluded something very odd is going on with my slave FlightSim PC.

I reset the network, cleared every JoinFS setting from the registry and started a fresh and still it would not connect without the main FlightSim PC's firewall being off which I know is not the issue because I have proven JoinFS works from another PC on my network. I'm am stumped and I do this for a living!
