Shared Cockpit brakes always on

Post by Giancarlo »

Hi Peter,
I am managing the Virtual Flying School of Piloti Virtuali Italiani and we are still plagued by the “brakes on” bug. We are experiencing this from long time, with FSX, FSX:SE, P3D 3 and 4 with the default trainer airplanes, as Cessna 172 and Baron, during more than a 100 lessons with up to 40 people involved with different OS, setups, etc.
The issue concerns the shared cockpit feature, that we use extensively, and, concerning the brakes, effects the taxi, the takeoff and landing.
The bug works like this: when people enter the cockpit, they all got the brakes ON by default and the consequent sign “Brakes” in red at the bottom left of their screens. The plane owner has the brakes free instead and can manage the plane on the ground as usual.
But if the plane owner passes the commands to someone else, the all people inside the plane will have the brakes ON including the plane owner. At this point the plane cannot be managed on the ground by any one.
After many tests we have found that the only way to release the brakes, for the one who is in command, is to apply the brakes one time with the pedals. At that point the brakes are out, but only for him. It works the same with Saitek, CH and Thrustmaster pedals. The procedure must be repeated every time someone takes the commands. We have not found a turnaround for the ones that use only a joystick.
We did not have any benefit from the recent updates.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks
Giancarlo
