Re: Missing my IP / Error message
Hi Frank, Yes, sorry about that, there is another post on this subject. Basically, the website that I use to get the external IP (MyIP) is currently offline. This shouldn't normally be a problem, but I discovered a couple of bugs that caused the error that you saw. These are now fixed, but for now, ...
Re: Password
Yes, there will be a password option fairly soon.
If you get someone unwanted into the session, all you need to do is select the aircraft and tick the 'Ignore' box, and that's it, You'll never see them again.

Re: Problem joining.
Hi Dennis,
Could you tick the record log box, please, and then post/PM the full log file. I need to see what happened earlier on.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Error message: unhandled exception
Yes, I got something similar this morning. The website I use to get your external IP address was down. JoinFS is supposed to use an alternative site, but I noticed a bug in the code, so it wasn't doing that. Besides all that it shouldn't have crashed like that, so that's another bug to fix (actually...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
X-Plane has two built-in possibilities to access flight simulator values: datarefs from a plugin or UDP datagrams on an IP interface. I think the preferred way would be the plugin, which is like a dll running in the context of X-Plane. Datarefs are like "offsets", just a lot easier to get...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
Also, look at the PlanG system, you can use simconnect OR FSUIPC to send data to and from PlanG to FSX. thus keeping track of our groups aircraft, giving me all the data you need. Aircraft type, call sign, course speed alt etc etc. Food for thought? I use PlanG and I think I use the FSUIPC connecti...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
And who knows maybe JOINFS will be able to communicate via FSUIPC in the future, which would add Xplane and Flight Gear to the list. That would be nice. The main sticking point with FSUIPC is, as far as I'm aware, you can't inject new aircraft into the simulator. Without that, there's no way to get...

Re: Followed Aircraft jumping in Overdub
I'm afraid the online manual is somewhat out of date. There is a link to a guide that someone has written in PDF format at the top of the manual page. That is relatively up to date. I'll make an effort next week to get on top of the manual. If the aircraft was a recording of yourself then it should ...

Re: Followed Aircraft jumping in Overdub
Hi, Was the jumpy aircraft a recording of a network aircraft or one that you recorded of yourself? The recording of network aircraft still needs a bit of work. I made some changes a while ago that made them a bit jumpy. I'm not sure what you mean by seeing all the aircraft at once from a tower view?...

Re: Removed Node Error
When I was implementing the hub system, I considered having a combined network instead of them being separated so that when you join you are basically connecting to everyone else and it is effectively one big session. But I felt that risked things possibly becoming unmanageable whereas the current s...

Re: Removed Node Error
Hi Dan, The current version hasn't really been designed to mix connections both locally and outside of a router. So I'm not that surprised that you get nodes dropping occasionally. There is a fairly minor modification that I can make that should allow both internal and external connections to be in ...

Glad you were able to solve the problem, Mark, albeit a last resort. Still, that's a very good price.

Hi Ron,
Very good point. I'm modifying the model scan soon, so I'll sort that out at the same time.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
Hi Roy,
There's nothing to stop you using JoinFS at the same time as VATSIM or IVAO. If you see duplicate aircraft from both networks, you can use the ignore option in JoinFS to hide the VATSIM copy of the aircraft.
I hope that's a suitable answer for you.

Re: version 1.1.4 MP not on radar
Hi Koos,
The one who is doing ATC needs to open the JoinFS File|Settings window and enable 'ATC Mode', and specify the airport code. Then you should be able to see multiplayer aircraft on the radar.
Best regards,
Peter

Re: JoinFS doesn't start after re-install
Do you have a virus checker running. I wonder if that is preventing you from running the msi file?
Try downloading again, moving the file to a different folder and then run it as administrator. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid I don't know what will.

It's part of Windows. Just run 'permon /res' either from the command prompt or using the keys 'Windows+R'.PH-LCS wrote: Do you have a link for the UI tool?

Re: 1.1.2 TCP Port Space Failure
Instead of netstat, there is also a UI tool. If you run 'perfmon /res' as administrator you can see what TCP connections are active. This should show where the problem is.

Glad it now works, but I have JoinFS on C: and FSX on D: and the scan works ok. Strange.
