Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
I think one of the best places to look would be Pete Dowsons website. http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/ If we can't find the info there maybe we could send him a message. From various threads I've read over the years he seems very helpful. Before JOINFS was crea...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
And who knows maybe JOINFS will be able to communicate via FSUIPC in the future, which would add Xplane and Flight Gear to the list. That would be nice. The main sticking point with FSUIPC is, as far as I'm aware, you can't inject new aircraft into the simulator. Without that, there's no way to get...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
one can just as well use the normal internal multiplayer function of FSX/P3D, exactly the same thing, just in another flavor.” I've not read the whole thread quoted so maybe it was taken out of context? I do disagree with the above quote though, as there are many benefits of using JoinFS over the d...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
This post should have everything you need to use Vpilot with a private FSD server. The program mentioned can also be used with the VRC radar client. Things to consider by using Vpilot over FSINN.. Voice won't work as in FSINN as it requires to connect to a Vatsim VVL voice server. If anybody can pr...

Re: JoinFS and FSD-server
JoinFS cannot directly connect to an FSD server. If you are having Issues using FSINN then there are a number of ways that Vpilot can be used with a private FSD server. I disagree with the comment from your other forum that JoinFS is another flavour of the default FSX/P3D multiplayer. The person tha...

Re: Removed Node Error
I experienced something that may be the same issue yesterday. My hub had 15 people connected. I joined from a LAN PC to the Internal IP of the hub. 15 users showed then after 10 seconds or so vanished leaving 2 users. If I input my DNS address (basically going out to come back in, as my router suppo...

Re: Normal FSX and carriers
That's great, Andy. Looking forward to trying that myself. And I noticed that the hub was running on your linux server. Another box ticked. :) In theory, I suppose it should run on a Raspberry Pi? Peter I've actually got a spare Pi doing nothing in the garage, so I'll have a play. Did you manage to...

Normal FSX and carriers
I'm not big into the military stuff but do like to try the odd carrier landing or midair refuel in the default F18. As Peter has now enabled the broadcast of objects, I thought I'd try creating a carrier with the FSX SDK tools and see if everybody else could land on it. They can. So now you can put ...

Re: VERSION 1.0.21 FRAME DROP
Just curious as I'm not a user of any of the fighter sims etc. What does your average default FSX pilot see these weapons as when they are auto broadcast in JFS? The default model they have set? If so do these weapons/default models expire on impact? Hi, as far dropped bomb most probably he does se...

Re: New Feature List
Ah I Misunderstood.
That's the problem with reading posts quickly whilst on a tea break.
FSX would know you're ATC the same way it knows your a Cessna.
The title in the cfg file.

Re: New Feature List
3. Interesting. I could use the ATC Mode, however some people use that to show aircraft on the GPS so that wouldn't quite work. How about I check if the user has no aircraft and has ATC Mode enabled. Would that cover it? Do you ever do ATC while loaded up with an aircraft? Thanks, Peter Would it be...

Re: New Feature List
Peter I hope you don't mind but I've listed a couple of features below which may help people not a part of a flight sim group who just want to join in the fun. 1. A html hyperlink in the Hubs menu Voice server section, as this will allow hub admin to input their voice server address (ts3://aserver.c...

Re: Running JFS under Linux
No I have a Linux server running hidden away. It serves various services including a webserver. I'll have to add a couple of programs to it first like wine and a desktop as it's currently a headless server. But my Plan is to add JFS to it so I have one machine serving everything. I'm using my Laptop...

Re: Running JFS under Linux
Yup that's the one.
Although I'm not sure why it's not showing all the time?
I notice that which some hubs too.
The majority are orange even though aircraft are using the node.

Re: Running JFS under Linux
I've checked 6112 is forwarded which it is.
Its the same rule I used for one of my other PCs during the Christmas session to be honest, but edited to point to the laptop IP.
And I've just given the laptop a 240V reset.
I do see other Hubs but can they see me????

I'll have a poke about in a mo.
I did see a few other hubs in the list when I set it up last night.
Roo.servebeer.com should get you there.

Running JFS under Linux
I've seen people here asking if JoinFS can be run under linux. Whilst I've not run it from terminal, I do have a temporary JoinFS hub running at the moment on my laptop which runs Xbuntu. I installed both JoinFS and the FSX XPACK Simconnect under Wine with no problems. Feel free to use the hub and s...
