version 1.4.15 and X-Plane
Hi Peter, Something isn't working the way it was in 1.4.14 when using JoinFS with X-Plane. I can't establish a connection from the program to the simulator. I have tried to re-install the X-Plane plugin from the program in case it changed, but that's made no difference. The JoinFS monitor window jus...

Re: port forwarding ON check
I believe "other" programs have in the past used UPnP (with apologies if I've got the capitalisation wrong) to manipulate the router configuration. I'm specifically thinking FSInn which was (is?) a VATSIM/IVAO/FSD style client which used to establish a peer to peer network between aircraft...

Re: Superfluous X-Plane AI aircraft
One of the side effects of this library may be that injected aircraft may no longer be visible to third party map drawing applications. If memory serves me correctly, I don't see Xsquawkbox injected aircraft on EFASS, PlanG or LittleNavMap, and that uses the same library to draw multiplayer aircraft...

Re: 1.3.8 issues
I am using X-Plane, yes... but as you say, in respect of opening a listening port that's probably irrelevant. The server machine where I first saw the issue has no simulator installed on it and never has had. Reading between the lines, I'm assuming that your X-Plane plugin tries to establish a UDP c...

Re: 1.3.8 issues
Sorry for the ongoing narrative...! The problem seems to be related to use of UDP port 7471 which both "production" and TEST versions/instances of JoinFS listen on in addition to the defined port. It doesn't seem to be being used to pass traffic at the moment though as I've been running Wi...

Re: 1.3.8 issues
Actually, it doesn't look like 1.3.8 that's caused the networking problem... I've been trying to roll back and have tried 1.3.6 with 1.3.6 TEST and also 1.3.3 with 1.3.6 TEST and am seeing the same thing - which is weird because I had that last combination running OK before I tried the upgrade. I've...

1.3.8 issues
Peter, Trying TEST version 1.3.8 on a machine that's also running 1.3.6 Firstly, 1.3.8 reports the following in the log window on startup (whether 1.3.6 is running or not). The middle line is unusual... 29/11/2017 18:42:48 Started 29/11/2017 18:42:48 Node failed to read message: 3 Unable to read bey...

Re: Version TEST 1.3.7
Seconded...
The 1.3.7 version I downloaded reports that it's 1.3.6 and that there's a new version available for download!

Re: Superfluous X-Plane AI aircraft
S'pose worst case you could manage them all, but tuck the unused ones on the other side of the planet.

Superfluous X-Plane AI aircraft
Not a bug this time - but a suggestion/request for the X-Plane functionality. Is it possible to "turn off" AI aircraft that aren't being actively managed by JoinFS - or provide the option to do so? I have 10 AI slots set up on my X-Plane instance - seems like a nice round number - but it's...

Aircraft change not being recognised.
Peter, This one might be by design so if it is please answer to that effect, but... When testing earlier - using XP11.10b8 with JoinFS 1.3.3 - I changed my aircraft but the change wasn't reflected in my local JoinFS - which means that other people in the session didn't pick up the change. I tried di...

Re: Some mixed sim testing with 1.3.2
Just to re-iterate what FireRx said...
No recurrence of either issue when flying with a mix of pilots - including picnic who had an FSX and a P3D instance sat on the same LAN.
We'll carry on testing though and let you know how we get on.

Re: Some mixed sim testing with 1.3.2
I don't have XCamera installed - and it freezes for me... Wasn't going to mention this until I'd had the chance to investigate further, but at one point in the testing we did I moved a large distance away from the airfield in a single jump and the performance went to complete pot. The XPlane log was...

Re: incompatible IPv6 ?
Sorry Peter, I've only just seen your update on this thread (note to self - turn on notifications when a reply is posted in future!)...
I'm not seeing the IPv6 errors in the log any more. Looks like whatever you've done has fixed it.
Andy

Airfield elevation issue?
Sorry Peter - another one from our testing tonight... This one appears to relate to different airfield elevations between simulations. I was in XP11.10b7; my colleague was in P3Dv2. We were both parked at Bristol. He was at 625ft AMSL, I was at 602ft AMSL on account of having "runway follows co...

XPlane - surface deflections
Keeping separate threads for each of the bugs that we find Not too important for me, but one for the purists and probably not too difficult to fix. Using JoinFS 1.3.2 with XP 11.10b7 and observing another aircraft running P3Dv2 Observed surface deflections for all surfaces were the inverse of the co...

Re: Some mixed sim testing with 1.3.2
Peter, Following on from this, I was testing with the same people as picnic (another Peter) was last night (we're all Bristol Flight Sim Group), but using different server equipment, and I was seeing the same behaviour... First of all, configuration. Single client instance running on our server with...

Re: incompatible IPv6 ?
Peter, I've been seeing the same errors as Jan and I just tried deleting the "hubs.dat" file like you suggest. As soon as I restarted JoinFS I saw the errors that Jan describes in the logs. Turns out that the address that it's complaining about is that of the machine on which JoinFS is run...

Re: Released and Test instances running concurrently
Peter,
New update seems to allow two instances to run concurrently - thank you! An extension to the request though - would it be possible for logging to be separated too please?
Thanks,
Andy

View Logs... unhandled excpetion
Probably low priority... On the "Monitor" dialog, On clicking "View Logs" when no logs have ever been written (checkbox never checked) Unhandled Exception... the system cannot find the file specified You probably don't need this, but... See the end of this message for details on ...
