Hi Steve
Open ports are fine but not what Peter told you to do. You have to setup two port forwards in your router. Read this forum entry to understand what that means:

Good luck

Re: Weather
Hi Grumpy The solution to your problem is called FSX/P3D Multiplayer Server but I imagine that is not what your are looking for. With the JoinFS hub you cannot enforce anything. In fact it is just a 'meeting point' to start a session. Once all members have joined the session you could switch off the...

Re: Can't find HUB
Hi Jürgen Just forget the password. As far as I know, Peter inserted it into the settings for future use; it never had any functionality. You wrote that you have given your buddy your ip; I assume you have given him the three numbers in your 'Me' window. As Spokes2112 said this is your ip and the po...

Re: Local network
Hi Alex Sure you can do that and it is damm simple. I assume you all have already used JoinFS and with this have done the first start of JoinFS. You have to have installed the latest version of JoinFS 1.4.13. Then: First you all have to start your Flight Simulator and then JoinFS. One of you have ta...
Re: Need Help
Hi Robert, hi Peter Peter, your advice concerning the two ports is only correct if somebody wants to run two instances of JoinFS on a LAN and both instances should be connectable from the internet. But that is not Roberts intention as I understand. Both, the 'Main PC' and the 'Server PC' have to use...
Re: Hub
Hi ASC003 Do you happen to have a name (or are you a robot)? Where have you opened the port: on the router or your PC? By opending a port you only say in the above anlogy to the front door that persons wearing a 'JoinFS' t-shirt can pass. That is fine but the portforward is still missing. Only with ...
Re: Hub
Hi From your text it appears you have not setup the portforwading in your router/modem that connects your home network to your internet provider. What is a portforward and what is it used for? I try to explain this with an analogy: You have put up at a public place a leaflet with an invitation to co...

Re: Me: Address Format
Hi Peter Thanks for your answer. Yes I know how to find out my external IP but since JoinFS already knows it, it would be nice if JoinFS could tell me. For the time beeing I can live with the way it is but can I propose a configuration option to define the address format of the 'Me' address ('Secret...

JoinFS in German
Hi Peter I am a member of a Swiss German group thinking about using JoinFS for flying together in FSX (currently we use a FSX multiplayer server). Since our members are not all fluent in English it would be great to have a (Swiss) German version of JoinFS. I have noticed that in the JoinFS installat...

Me: Address Format
When I start up JoinFS my own IP address is shown in 'Secret Format' (12345 12345). I would much prefer to see my real IP since I will only host private sessions with my colleagues. Is there any way to define in what format the 'Me' IP address is shown?
Thanks for your answer
