JoinFS Map & MSFS

Hello,
I am using V1.5.3 on a Windows 10 system to keep a hub based map.
It has been working for several years without issue.

Now that MSFS is part of the equation I am noticing that the aircraft details in the whazzup.txt file are more complex for MSFS aircraft.

Is there a way to clean this up so that perhaps all we see is the A20N or what we actually see when we look at the JoinFS Aircraft list?

Yes, that odd name came from version 1.5.0. I think all you need to do is remove 'models - Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.txt' from the JoinFS folder on the machine that you create the whazzup file and it should clear them. I might need to clear these up in code actually, since it's no longer possible to scan, but for now you can delete that file, or if you prefer, edit it to remove those corrupt names.

Just a heads up Peter..
I still get these as you know.
But I don't have that file as I've never scanned for models on my Linux machine.

Of course, sorry, ignore my previous post. It's nothing to do with your local file. The bad info is coming from other pilot's files which have some stale data in. I'll have to get the next version to clear them out automatically. They should start disappearing as people update to the fixed version, 1.5.4.

Thanks,
Peter

I updated my hub to 1.5.4 on the weekend.
I also updated my flight sim PC's to 1.5.4.

When we ran a group flight on Sunday I saw that my aircraft still had the nasty looking model info.

I tried a test today.
I loaded MSFS and then started JoinFS. The C172 says : /TTATCCOM.AC_MODEL C172.0.text
I then used the dev menu to swap to the C208 and it also had the long text.
I reverted to the C172 and JoinFS Map reloaded the data and it still showed the same as it was previously.

Is there something I need to do to get these values to report to whazzup.txt so that all I see is: /C172 ?

That's annoying, there's actually two slightly different versions of that text and I'm only catering for one of them. I'll get a fix in 1.5.7. Hopefully there aren't any more variations of it.
