This app might harm your device

On downloading JoinFS.msi, windows defender gives out a warning saying 'This app might harm your device' .So is it safe to download or not

Hi,

It's a general warning. Lots of people have been using JoinFS for four years. I wrote the source code and am happy to run it on my machine. As always, please read the disclaimer during installation.

I think the reason that message comes up with JoinFS is because the package and exe are not signed with a certificate. I looked into doing that years ago but there were a lot of hoops to jump through and costs. Although recently I've been thinking about giving it another go.

I use many, many software that brings up that warning, not just JoinFS. As long as you're 200% sure you got it from a safe source, you can run it.
