Thanks for helping to resolve the issue.

Just to conclude the thread for future reference. Two issues were identified. The first is that a handful of hubs were not accessible at all over the network from that location for some unknown reason. Connections to my machine and all other hubs worked fine. A somewhat unusual case of certain IP addresses simply being unaccessible (possibly ISP or region related). The second issue was that there were only two hubs listed in the 'seed' list. This has been increased to include some of the hubs that were available.

In case anyone else is experiencing these kind of connection problems, rmaure06 and I have managed to find a work around.

Uninstall JoinFS from Windows.
Install an older version such as v2.1.3.
Then install the latest version.

Not sure why that fixed it, but it worked.

Hello Peter,
I am having the same problem....
I have done all the items mentioned including installing a older version....still no hubs. I have double checked the firewall, I have internet on the computer, JoinFS sees the sim (entry in the log). I have had Norm (the canadian....and my friend from MistyFlyingClub) help me all afternoon and still nothing. I have tried the IP address and aviator.digitalthemepark.com and unless I am putting it in, in the wrong place....still nothing. Running windows 10.....any Ideas, or should we have a discord session....Or???
Thanks in advance,
Henry

Hi Henry,

this seems to be affecting a few people. Could you ping me on Discord? I should be available for the next few hours.

was a fix ever found for this ? i too have just started having this issue in version 3.0.3 ,i did a uninstall then a install of version 3.0 still ,no hubs . version 1.4.31 works and we can connect using it but its a much older version . i think it might have something to do with the type of IP address. on the older version where the display reads ME my ip address is different than the new version and i am unable to change. i

The ME address isn't actually the IP address. The reason the old version was different is because that was based on an obscured IP address, whereas the new one is a random unique address for that machine.

Are you sure you can see all the hubs with 1.4.31? That version should be completely incompatible with the 3.x.x.

There is another reason that I can see which might be related. The other day I modified the seed hub list, but as of today none of those seed hubs are currently online (for me anyway), so I will update the list this afternoon which might fix the problem for you. Normally the hub list is stored on in the JoinFS local files so it shouldn't need the seed list to repopulate. Maybe there is related problem there.

Is it the case that you upgraded to 3.0.3 and the hub list just suddenly disappeared on that machine?

I have just updated the hub seed list. Could you try again and see if you get the same results?

Same problem here. Just installed latest JoinFS and can't see any hubs. Checked firewall settings but does not appear to be blocked there. Tried joining the IP address suggested in this thread but that does not work either. Simulator is green, network is red. Any suggestions?

Are you able to connect to aviator.digitalthemepark.com ?

Ran JoinFS this morning but still had the same problem. Upon seeing your post several hours later, I opened it again and this time the network connected as it should. Don't know what changed since this morning but now I can see the Hubs.

Hi,

JoinFS has always been very reliable, and yet from running it earlier this week without problem, I too am now experiencing the same issue - no hubs, no aircraft.

I had this with JoinFS 3.0.5, which I uninstalled for JoinFS 3.0.6 but without success. JoinFS 3.0.7 & 3.0.8 were released fairly quickly after one another, and only when I installed the original JoinFS 3.0.8 did things return to normal. However, this evening, wanting to fly online with friends, the same issue recurred.

So, this evening I re-read this thread, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling an old version JoinFS 2.1.4 followed by JoinFS 3.0.8 but without success.

My internet works OK (I'm on this forum now and downloading files OK), and JoinFS is set to allow Private on the Firewall (Windows). Just in case, I have tried setting port forwarding to 6112, and the port is open, but this made no difference, and I have tried running JoinFS as administrator and as normal, but no luck.

If I create a session, my network goes green, but if i enter the URL or IP for DigitalThemePark as per this thread, then it stays at amber.

I'd be very grateful for any and all help - thank you.

Best wishes,
Fabio

Hi Fabio,

Could you look at your JoinFS address book and see if there is an entry for DigitalThemePark? If there is, then remove it and try to connect to aviator.digitalthemepark.com.

If that does not work then try the following:

Close JoinFS
Rename the file [USER]\AppData\Local\JoinFS\bookmarks2.txt to something else.
Start JoinFS
Confirm that there are no entries in the address book
Try connecting to aviator.digitalthemepark.com and see if it connects.
Rename the above file back to bookmarks2.txt.

Peter

I'm having the same issue (no hubs list, no test connection to the test servers you mentioned).
I've tried uninstalling, installing v2.1.3 (no hubs list, no test connection to the test servers you mentioned)
and reinstalling (no hubs list, no test connection to the test servers you mentioned).

Just an orange network indicator when attempting to connect to a test server, or a green one when Join Global is pressed.

I have port 6112 open with UDP, and I've got Windows firewall to allow connections.

Please help!

Hi Peter, thank you for your reply.

My address book is empty; I still tried connecting to "aviator.digitalthemepark.com" but with just an amber light, and the list of hubs remains unpopulated.

Under ...\AppData\Local\JoinFS\, there is no bookmarks text file (I have callsigns, folder, masquerading, matching, models; one of each text file for MSFS and XP11).

Desktop image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4t1c1rqvkc9jd ... e.JPG?dl=0

I thought that my port 6112 was open, but I have just checked this, and it seems shut (new router, must learn how to configure it); is having 6112 closed an isssue?

Thanks again,
Fabio

Sounds like it might be a router problem then. Try opening port 6112 to so that it forwards your PC traffic, UDP-only on 6112.
