A new test version has been released, available at http://pmem.uk/joinfs/development.html
If you are running a publicly accessible JoinFS client, you can now add it to the global list of hubs. See menu, View|Hubs and settings.

Re: JoinFS on a server
Hello, You don't need to install the simulator on your server, the only requirement is that you install the legacy version of SimConnect, 10.0.61259.0, on the server. If you have FSX:Steam somewhere you can get the MSI install file from "(FSX)\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfa...

Re: Unhandled Exception
Hi,
Are you specifying a port number in the join address or is it just in the format "0.0.0.0" ?
Did you enter the address in the Join box before clicking the Join button?

Re: Aircraft Label - Callsign/User
Hi Markeebo,
Labels have been working for quite some time now. Just enable the labels in the simulator in the normal way. If you want to see the other pilot's nicknames you can enable this in the JoinFS settings.
Which simulator are you using?
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for offering your advice, appreciated. I may well take you up on it when I start working on that side of things.
Best regards,
Peter

Re: Using the JoinFS overdub, replay, and join cockpit features...
Hi Robert,
hope you're well, mate. That is awesome. You're really pushing JoinFS into new areas here. A shared-cockpit passenger in VR is better than a roller coaster demo IMO.
Best regards,
Peter

Re: FSX and P3D in one session
To add a substituted model you need to be in the same session that has an aircraft that you want to change the model for. For example, if you join a session that has 737 model that you don't own. It will initially show in the simulator as your chosen default aircraft. All you need to do is select th...

Re: FSX and P3D in one session
If you click on the box at the top of the window, you can select a different model other than the default. The Remove button will then be enabled.
If you only have default in the list then that means you don't currently have any model substitutions active.

Re: FSX and P3D in one session
Hi, If you have a substitution listed in "Edit model matching" for an aircraft then it will always show the replacement model and not the original model. If you want to show the original model instead then you need to remove that substitution, which you can do by clicking the Remove button...

Re: Thank! You! for creating this awesome flightsim-connection-tool
Hi Ronald,
Your post and kind comments are very much appreciated, thanks. Yes, it was rather nice to get a mention in PC Pilot this month.
There are plenty of new little features still in the works, and any new ideas are of course very welcome.
Best regards,
Peter

Re: JoinFS window always on top
Hi Marc,
I should be able to do that. Would you like it to work per window or for the whole application. In other words, have the aircraft list on top but not the main window?

Re: Request for help with development
Hi Bert, thanks for posting. As Tisor mentions, there is a wealth of information on FSDeveloper, and I would make that one of your main sources of information, as well as Google, you can find pretty much anything you want very quickly these days. Unfortunately most of my time is taken up with JoinFS...

Re: Not really bugs, rather minor and whishes
Hi Mario, 1. Yes, your settings sounds correct. When you are not seeing other players, are you checking the pilot list to see if everyone is listed there? In the pilot list does everyone have Connected state as "Yes", or are there any with "No"? The best place to check first is t...

A Christmas Update
Greetings, after the flurry of successive releases towards the end of the year as JoinFS took to the air and got itself trimmed for steady flight, you may be wondering about the relative dearth of new versions recently. Apart from a short break from coding to make sure the cross-community Lapland ex...

That's a good point, Roo, I'm fairly sure I can get JoinFS to respond to http requests and so provide an interface that way.

Re: ATC with JOINFS (Please Read Again!)
I doubt I'll be doing any ATC specific utilities as that's sort of outside the scope of JoinFS. However, I am definitely interested in ensuring that existing/new ATC add-ons are able to work alongside JoinFS. That's why I added the ATC Mode and will be adding support for server interaction via a dat...

Re: ATC with JOINFS (Please Read Again!)
I believe that other radar add-ons, and GPS add-ons will show JoinFS aircraft reasonably well. I'm still not clear what you mean by an add-on for JoinFS. What exactly is it that you would like it to do? The data file support that I'll be doing for the map feature that you mentioned may well be what ...

Re: ATC with JOINFS (Please Read Again!)
Hi Andy, I have not seen any reports that indicate ATC Mode will not work in P3D. Unfortunately I don't own P3D and so am unable to confirm. I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. All you need to do is go to JoinFS settings and enable ATC Mode. Then see which of your existing radar software, ...
